I'm sure you have a few questions, so I'll do my best to answer them.
It's a book. Sort of. It's more like a radio. TheNaviga Conspectus is a book that was written (maybe forged is a better term?) around 225 AD by an unknown Steward. It's not like a normal book though, technically all of its pages are blank, though there’s a form of magic incantation (it sounds silly, but stick with me.) put over its pages. Every page has had the same “spell” written on it at one point, though all of the ink that was used is gone,all that's left is the indentation from the writing instrument used. Like when you write too heavy-handedly and the next page has a ghost of the writing on the previous page. What this spell does isn’t entirely clear, however it seems to connect to other copies of the Naviga Conspectus in parallel universes. That's what I meant when I said its like a radio. Every time you turn the page it's like trying a new radio frequency. Often you get static and the page stays blank, but sometimes you find a page that says or shows something. Its also not consistent. If you go to the same page twice the connection seems to reset and something new is there, or nothing at all.
That's really nice of you to ask!! I’m the current steward of the Naviga Conspectus. The previous steward was Dr. Richard Plant of the University of Texas. He vanished in 1982, and after going missing for over a year the school eventually cleaned out his office and donated his books to the university library. The Naviga Conspectus sat in some dusty rare books section for years until the section was cleaned out, and the Naviga Conspectus was opened, found blank (Only partially wrong!) and was put in a pile to be sold at a fundraising event along with Dr. Plant’s notebook with his research into the Naviga Conspectus. Blah blah blah, I have both now. Abiding by the Dr. Plant’s notes, until my death or disappearance, I would just like to be known as the current steward. (Stew if you’re nasty.) I am not Dr. Plant’s next of kin, I never met him. I don’t know what happened to him, but I have theories.
After realizing what the Naviga Conspectus was and reading Dr. Plant’s notes, I decided to start cataloging what I found when I looked through the book. I’ll share those notes someday. Then one day it occurred to me that I should see what happens when I scan the pages into a computer. So I acquired a book scanner and started scanning in pages. Interestingly, the Naviga Conspectus is having a bit of a different reaction to being scanned instead of just being read. It seems to be taking advantage of the new medium and evolving. (Scary, honestly. But it seems harmless.) To avoid whatever happened to Dr. Plant, I decided to upload what I scan to this website so other people can see the things I find. Each page is a different scanned page, or sometimes my own notes if I feel called to share. Be patient with me as I’m new to this, but also the Naviga Conspectus seems to have a mind of its own at times, even in the form of being scanned pages.
